Here's what you will do all summer!

  • The Web Content Development team within Gap Inc.is responsible for creating a best in class digital and brand experience today– and ideating how our customers will interact with our brands tomorrow. Thework of our Customer Strategy Team impacts all brands. Your work will impactmillions of people worldwide who love our iconic brands.

  • This position supports the family of Gap Inc.brands' eCommerce teams by developing, coding, deploying and modifyingresponsive marketing content to the site. Specific daily duties will include:
  • W3C standards-based HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScriptand jQuery development and site production (hand code)
  • Creating HTML5/CSS3 designs complying withcontemporary responsive, mobile-first standards; conforming to specificaccessibility guidelines
  • Maintaining website cross-platform and crossbrowser compatibility
  • Creation of HTML 5/CSS3/JavaScript templates foronline marketing initiatives
  • Maintenance of HTML 4 &5/XHTML/CSS/JavaScript for existing web sites
  • Experience and understanding of responsive webcontent development
  • Troubleshoot coding issues and bugs
  • Asset Management
  • Collaborate with Design team to incorporatevisual design into functional web pages
  • Form and work in close partnerships with otherWeb Content Developers, brand production teams and brand web design

Here's what you need to get the work done

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with one yearor less left to graduate in Management Information Systems, InformationSystems, Information Technology, Integrated Systems Engineering, ComputerScience, Engineering or related degree with a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Familiarity in HTML5/CSS3 (including, box-model,iframes, meta tags, transitions/transformations).
  • Coding with an eye to performance
  • Experience coding HTML 5 and CSS 3, Webproduction tools, Adobe Photoshop, web site production and programmingexperience
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to turn around project efficiently and excelin a team environment

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with and ability to debug JavaScriptcode and client-side image maps
  • Mobile web development, jQuery experience, andcross-platform and browser compatibility issues a plus
  • Ecommerce site development and User Interfacedesign background preferred
  • Familiar with SEO compliancy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tightdeadlines
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Fluent in HTML/XHTML versions through 4.0 (including forms, frames, complex tables, meta tags)
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot JavaScript code and client-side image maps
  • Proficient in Web production tools
  • Proficient with cross-platform and browser compatibility issues
  • Proficient with Flash animation and knowledge of ActionScript.
  • Technically proficient in Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proficient with cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to include CSS positioning and table-less layouts
  • Familiar with SEO compliancy
  • Experience with various Version Control Software (CVS, Subversion, VSS)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to turn around projects quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • 2 years of college or equivalent experience
  • 2 years (minimum) web site production and programming experience
  • E-commerce site development preferred
  • User Interface design background preferred
