Staff Analyst, Marketing Finance, Gap Global

General Summary:

GapBrand is seeking a Staff Financial Analyst to join the Gap Global MarketingFinance team. This role reports to the Manager of Marketing Finance andsupports the Marketing leadership team to deliver on financial goals. The rolewill be responsible for divisional and marketing expense lines.

Essential JobDuties:

  • Buildthe annual budget and lead the monthly forecast and close processes for Gap OnlineMarketing expenditures across marketing, PR and other departments
  • Identifyand research monthly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identifyingopportunities for improvement
  • Actas Finance liaison to Marketing with respect to all financial inquiries
  • Partnerwith and maintain a strong working relationship with the all functionalleaders on the Gap Global Leadership team including Strategic Sourcing
  • Prepareexecutive presentations for budget and forecast that provide insight andanalysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions
  • Educateand influence executive leaders through forecast, budget, and ad hoc analyses
  • Identifyprocess efficiencies and work cross-functionally to research and implement bestpractices

  • Self-starterwith demonstrated drive & initiative
  • Bachelorsdegree in Finance / Accounting, or related field; MBA a plus. 1- 2 years ofwork experience, preferably in financial analysis with a strong knowledge offinancial/accounting principles and theory
  • AdvancedExcel skills required, as well as strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint,and Hyperion Essbase; knowledge of Oracle financial systems and Access a plus
  • Organizedand detail-oriented professional with proven analytical ability and creativeproblem solving skills
  • Exceptionalwritten, listening, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to create anddeliver presentations with clarity and impact
  • Emphasison interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead conversations withexecutive management and to articulate financial concepts to business partnersoutside of finance in a clear and concise manner
  • Abilityto handle confidential data with maturity and discretion
  • Passionateabout the business and independently motivated to achieve results; excitedabout working in a team-oriented environment
  • Retailexperience a plus
