General Summary: The Staff Analyst of Cost of Sales-Spread is responsible for several line items that determine the financial margin of the brand, including Lower of Cost or Market (LCM), Fabric and Samples Costs, Shrink, Vendor Discounts and Recoveries.

  • Coordinate the North America and Online COS Spread annual budget with cross-functional business partners, and ensure accuracy of budget uploads
  • Manage monthly forecasting process across multiple line items
  • Manage close process, ensure completeness of accruals and explain variances to forecast
  • Own highly sensitive accruals for Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) and Fabric Liability
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with a variety of business partners within Production and Merchandising, Global Finance Hubs, and our Corporate Shared Services Center
  • Provide financial and business support to business partners in FP&A through management of the annual budget process, monthly forecast, and reporting processes
  • Conduct monthly fabric liability review with the Production team, and partner with them to drive cost savings and identify creative solutions to manage expenses
  • Identify and research monthly and quarterly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identify and implement opportunities for improvement
  • Work with Inventory Control to identify best practices in accounting for shrink and below-cost inventory
  • Provide monthly updates on Air Freight spend to Merchandising and Logistics
  • Work with Inventory Management to review weekly markdowns and ensure the impact of below cost markdowns are quantified prior to approval
  • Support business partners with ad hoc requests
  • Perform a variety of business analysis that will be driven by Corporate Finance
  • Work closely with business partners to understand business flow and key drivers that impact line items
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on a variety of line items that involve large amounts of data
  • Manage forecast and reporting tools and identify process improvements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of finance experience.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, including basic framework of the Profit & Loss Statement. Retail Finance knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
  • Proven analytical ability and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations to upper management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Knowledge of Oracle financial systems and Hyperion Essbase a plus.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who is flexible and can deal with ambiguity.
