Sr. Transportation Analyst, Airfreight Operations

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Manage and analyze day to day Airfreight Operations of Gap international shipments into the US and Canada and support the parcel network that moves direct-store-delivery (DSD) test shipments from vendors direct to stores across NA and Europe. Work with internal and external business partners to identify optimal routing and minimize network disruptions that could impact performance and/ or cost. Develops and drives cost, service, and process improvement initiatives to support needs of Gap Inc. supply chain. Develop and maintain a strong internal and external network of third party airfreight and parcel carriers. Assist Strategic Sourcing to support airfreight and parcel sourcing needs, mode analysis, and special projects to support transportation programs. Identifies and implements best practices, and must be able to support other transportation initiatives as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibility for supporting the day-to-day activities of airfreight forwarders, parcel carriers, local Campus Transportation, and Gap Inc. DC Operations teams.

Identify opportunities to measure and improve trade lane routing and performance - manage inbound flow from origin airport to destination DC (Carrier Drop). Ensure reliable execution and alignment with SLA's.

Onboard new air forwarders to align on expectations of operational execution, reporting, and data integrity.

Drive data integrity for all air forwarders/ parcel carriers by partnering across teams for 100% compliance with accuracy and timeliness.

Partner closely with the Global Transportation Operations Center (GTOC) to understand 'exception' shipments monitor/ take action on. Partner with internal and external business partners to mitigate delays and communicate issues to impacted stakeholders.

Monitor 3PL/4PL exception reports and partner with Origin, Procurement, and Compliance teams to create/initiate action plans as appropriate to resolve repetitive service issues.

Manage relationship with parcel carrier(s) and internal business partners to support costly DSD shipments to stores

Own development and maintenance of SOPs. Manage carriers against those SOPs to ensure compliance.

Through regular contact with stakeholders (Origin Operations, Procurement, and Compliance), identify opportunities to improve logistics service, and make recommendations to optimize cost and service

Communicate Gap Inc.'s strategic Logistics initiatives to internal and external partners.

Support Brand initiatives through airfreight and parcel 'speed' solutions

Conduct shipment-level spend and transit analysis to identify cost effectiveness as necessary

Develop strong relationships with internal business partners and external suppliers

Understanding of current shipping processes, sourcing points, and distribution network

Basic understanding of customs trade compliance to support international shipping needs

Multi-modal transportation service knowledge to include: truckload, less-than-truckload, parcel, ocean, air freight, brokerage and other freight forwarding modes.

Monitor industry trends and shipping best practices

Continually evaluate carriers to ensure Gap Inc.'s airfreight and parcel shipping needs are being delivered

Minimum Educational Level:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience:

3-5 years business experience in Logistics or related field/industry

Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:
