Senior Merchandiser, Mills Management IPSS

Senior Merchandiser , Mills Management IPSS The Sr. Merchandiser, Mills Management IPSS is responsible for actively engaging in the development and sourcing of fabrics for Gap Inc., and supports strategies to improve speed to market through fabric platforming. The Senior Merchandiser partners with the MM, Mills Management IPSS to influence design and merchandising while supporting specific brand aesthetics and the development of efficient processes. As a trusted expert, the Senior Merchandiser generates market intelligence data and makes presentations to Senior leadership on IPSS trends and pricing. Job Responsibilities: Support the placement and development of IPSS fabrics Partner with brand Design, R&D and key suppliers to implement innovation Maintain data on sourcing and price history for IPSS fabrics (fabrication, weight, finishing etc.) Maintain the IPSS fabric library history (early development through PO/Liability) Manage the development of processes to track and stage IPSS fabric in Brand pipelines Drive mill base to meet specific brand aesthetic needs Build effective relationships and partner across IPSS category with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies to drive results Engage suppliers on quality improvements and consistency Partner with Quality Assurance and Product Integrity teams Develop technical skills of direct reports (if any) Requirements: Minimum of four years of related experience, preferably within merchandise sourcing, development or production Bachelor's degree in textiles or merchandising, additional qualifications in business administration/supply chain management, or related discipline is preferred Experience with sourcing from various mills Problem solving and analytical skills Strong negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal skills: can partner with cross-functional/cross cultural teams at all levels of the company Excellent communication and presentation skills Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills in English Proficient in MS Office Suite International travel could be required Interested in this role or in joining another part of the Gap Inc.
