About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and delivery of competitive total rewards programs for Gap International Sourcing ("GIS"), promoting an outstanding employee experience, and the achievement of company objectives.
The role will oversee a team responsible for policy, compliance and payroll across all GIS locations.
This position has oversight of a range of HR duties, with a strong emphasis on compensation & benefits programs and administration, compliance related projects and changes, and regional payroll approvals.
The role will act as a center of excellence for all total rewards matters across GIS, working with global partners and executing through the regional HR team.
What You Will Do
govern and manage local compensation, benefits and global mobility programs and processes for all GIS locations, to ensure we are positioned to attract and retain the best talent in the market and deliver business objectives.
Tailor global programs as needed, to ensure intent and spirit comes through within the context of local market applicability and compliance.
Drive for internal equity, external competitiveness, and consistency across the region to the extent possible within local country compliance requirements.
Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
Executive compensation analysis and reporting
Job evaluation/grading, market surveys, preparation and update of market reference pay ranges for assigned countries; as needed, partner with global colleagues to assess & select service providers to ensure best practice and service across all GIS locations
Continuous analysis of market competitiveness and return on investment of total rewards practices and programs
Acting as point person to drive annual salary reviewewards process through regional HR partners
Administration of incentive plans (short term/annual bonus, long term/stock plans, exceed award)
Escalation/issue resolution and continuous improvement of all benefits programs (insurance, retirement plans, anniversary programs, merchandise/product discounts, employee assistance program, outplacement service programs, etc.)
Monitoring of employee mobility and expat management practices, in conjunction with global mobility team; supporting HR partners on the initiation of moves through policy guidance and interpretation as needed
Oversight of regional payroll execution
Oversight of reward-related audit and compliance
Working closely with GIS Finance team on annual rewards budget
Partnering with regional HR to ensure flawless execution of rewards programs and practices, and full compliance with legal, labor relations, tax and social insurance requirements for all GIS locations
Maintaining total rewards policy documentation (or drafting new policies as required), and ensuring they are tailored for inclusion in local country employee handbooks
Acting as rewards subject matter expert or center of excellence for regional HR team - implement and execute initiatives through these partnerships, building knowledge and capability across the broader HR function to promote self service
Providing technical and process education to regional HR, leveraging job aids and e-learning wherever possible to promote self-service
Partnering with other divisions to streamline and harmonize practices where appropriate (Asia Retail, GapTech India, etc.)

Who you are
Education and Experience
Relevant university degree or equivalent
Increasingly responsible work history in total rewards, with experience as "center of excellence", ideally in international, matrixed working environments
Time spent working in regional teams of US-headquartered companies ideal
Team leadership and the ability to develop and inspire others to be their best
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong project management capability including stakeholder engagement and communication; collaboration skills with the ability to build successful working relationships
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize effectively
Ability to tolerate ambiguity and regular change - an agile mindset and approach
Strong detail orientation and analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from data
End-to-end process thinking
Strong command of English (both written and verbal)
Working knowledge of rewards principles, regulations and policies and the ability to integrate with broader HR policies and objectives
Global mindset and cross-cultural competence
Previous experience with Workday is an advantage; expertise in MS office applications is required
