Senior Manager, Innovation Strategy Operations

Job Description Summary:

The senior manager of innovation strategy and operations will enable the agile and fast-paced innovation center of excellence, a highly technical interdisciplinary group of forward-thinking scientists, engineers, designers, sourcing professionals and outside research institutions, to bring product innovations to life across all brands within the Gap, Inc. portfolio.

Manage company-wide innovation portfolio across all brands, including providing visibility to all projects within global sourcing organization

Prepare cost benefit analysis of company-wide innovation platforms and projects

Work with consumer insights to develop Gap Inc.'s SWOT analysis and competitive landscape focusing on portfolio innovation strategy

Interface with brand leadership and strategy teams to understand and align innovation CoE's strategies and product platforms

Support operations and innovation leaders to evaluate investment deals with technology, vendor, and other start-up partnerships; work with corporate development team to create joint-development business agreements

Drive project work streams to identify and evaluate critical strategic growth opportunities and priorities across product categories

Work with tiger team leaders to develop and validate innovation project roadmaps, milestones, and go / no go decision mapping

Identify and create KPIs against plans and establish scorecard tools and processes to outline progress

Structure and prepare reporting for senior company leadership meetings




Strong passion for working in innovation and apparel industry; retail/apparel or retail management consulting a plus

5+ years of work experience in Strategic Planning, Product Management, Business Development, Management Consulting or a related field

Proven ability to provide insightful data analysis & synthesis that unlocks consumer and market opportunities

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and own multiple projects at once

Strong problem solving skills, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience managing complex stakeholders

Proven success in ambiguous environments

Strong project management and financial modeling experience

Demand forecasting experience

International business experience

Advanced power point and excel skills

MBA preferred
