Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing - IT and Professional Services
The Senior Director, IT & Professional Services leads and develops a team to drive competitive advantage and value for Gap Inc. by developing category strategies to deliver better-than-market results for multiple complex IT categories under management. The Sr. Director is responsible for identifying and planning new opportunities for value and process improvement. The Sr. Director develops strong, effective business partner relationships at the senior leader and executive levels of the IT organization that lead to on-going strategic partnerships. The Sr. Director is responsible for developing and continuously improving the capabilities of the Sourcing Professionals in the IT Strategic Sourcing Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds effective strategic relationships with IT partners and senior leadership and successfully partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive results and influence change
Responsible for end-to-end sourcing process and partnering effectively with IT business owners.
Responsible for developing the leadership, sourcing capability and category expertise for the team; acts as an expert source on employing technical and leadership skills for the department
Leverages analysis and experience to identify and prioritize new sourcing opportunities and creates resource plans to achieve goals and targets
Develops IT sourcing strategies in support of IT long range plans; hardware, software, telecom, labor, outsourcing, etc.
Sets goals and category performance targets for the team and coaches leaders to achieve goals; holds suppliers accountable to performance agreements and determines when course corrections and mitigation strategies are needed
Prioritizes and leads the continuous improvement process for programs within IT Strategic Sourcing
Has deep IT strategic sourcing capability and IT strategic supplier knowledge; regularly leverages industry experts, associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices for category strategies
Leverages strong influencing skills to define strategic sourcing role and align project objectives and targets with IT Leadership
Leads and conducts, as needed, high visibility and complex competitive negotiation processes
Acts as an expert resource for team in the development of strategies for implementation and change management for projects
Responsible for the performance of 3rd party suppliers and for assessing their performance
Partners with department leaders to identify needs and plan development and skill building for Strategic Sourcing talent
15 + years professional experience in IT, management consulting and/or strategic sourcing
Bachelor's degree in MIS, IT, business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience in managing & negotiating with large IT strategic suppliers
Ability to assess talent and manage, motivate and develop others, including leaders of others, to higher levels of performance
Demonstrated political and organizational savvy; can effectively and directly manage conflicting view points and challenging situations with minimal negative impact
Ability to lead others through change while achieving and maintaining results
Ability to influence company executives to achieve business results
Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills; ability to communicate complex information in an executive format and use data to tell a compelling story
Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; can see a problem from multiple angles and provide viable, innovative options for resolution
Ability to effectively manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support unplanned work
Proficient in MS Office Suite and eSourcing tools
Can act as an expert resource for the strategic sourcing process and change management
Ability to travel as required
