Senior Director, Lean, Responsive & Sustainability

Senior Director, Lean, Responsive & Sustainability General summary: The primary focus of this position is to lead the development and implementation of clear, consistent and effective strategies focused on lean, responsive and sustainability area. The role is accountable for building sustainable capabilities for the sourcing organization to execute inclusive of capacity management, demand based buying, testing, lean and sustainable sourcing practices across the supplier base. The role works closely with sourcing category leader and brand product development leaders to develop our sourcing strategies in line with business needs. Key Duties : Layout comprehensive multi-year responsive capacity growth plans while closely working with category leads, Brands and vendor/mill partners Actively provide inputs in development and deployment of country and category strategies, strategic supplier partnerships and investments in collaboration with brands and category leadership team Provide leadership with regard to both the development and execution of responsive supply chain capabilities. Accelerate capacity growth and execution of various responsive and flexible strategies Directly influence and work with vendor/mill and logistics partners to reduce end-to-end supply chain lead times Develop and implement capacity management & loading process and implement it consistently cross categories Develop sourcing portion of testing, demand driven buying and VMI capabilities among others Ensure the deployment of lean capabilities and should cost with our strategic suppliers Determine and drive sustainable roadmap for sourcing practices and capabilities across supplier base. Layout comprehensive execution plan against our 2020 vision and sustainability roadmap as it relates to Water, PACE, Transparency, Red rate factories and ZDHC. Build productive partnerships with internal functions- Global production, IM, GSC leadership and develop necessary influence to the best drive overall business results Effectively manage key stakeholders across Category Management and Vendors to drive change and results Ensure the development and deployment of IT systems/tools, drive Implementation and help to drive change management within the organization Organization relationships: This position will frequently interact with Senior and Executive leadership team and peers in Category Management, Supply Chain Strategy, Mills/ Vendors, and Logistics. Requirements: 10-15 years of professional experience, preferably in fashion retail/apparel/consulting. Preferred experience at top strategy consulting firm, proven capability to determine,executive and operationalize strategy and related capabilities for implementation Familiarity with manufacturing operations and economic models. Exceptional ability to develop relationships across geographies and cultures Strong interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to lead by through influence (Senior Leadership Team, Brands, Category teams, Logistics) Strong ability to zoom in and zoom out, successfully operating/managing both at the detail and the strategic level Strong presentation skills and ability to influence a broad variety of senior stakeholders Sound Project management skills Advanced degree in Engineering, operations or Top MBA required Interested in this role or in joining another part of the Gap Inc.
