Senior Director / Director, Merchandise Sourcing, Vendor Management GENERAL SUMMARY: About the Function: The Vendor Management (VM) team is accountable for global vendor/cross-functional/brand relationships, performance as per defined sourcing strategy, strategic capacity planning .The sub teams - Category Sourcing, Product Development and Vendor Development work in specialized operating model in order to facilitate more nimble sample development, drive value added activities & innovation and improve our responsive capability to service the business better. About the Sub-Team : The primary responsibility for the Category Sourcing team will be to drive the overall country and vendor strategy for the department in partnership with the other category teams such as strategy, raw material and garment technical. The main purpose of the team is to implement the category strategy by leveraging the overall category volumes for product allocation. The team will be accountable for capacity planning and driving organizational goals of AUC/RSC and Innovation by integrating the Product development and Post PO Management teams within the Vendor Management function. About the Role: As Sr. Director / Director, Vendor Management, you will be accountable for the strategy and planning for your department with in the global category and will be responsible for driving the strategic initiatives and processes such as RSC, Seasonal Plan, Fabric Development & Booking and Sample Garment Development processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds effective strategic relationships with senior leaders and successfully partners across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive the results for which this position is accountable Oversees end-to-end supply chain pipeline for their area of responsibility Builds and drives the vendor strategy for their area of business (approves new vendors, new facilities and subcontracted factories) Accountable for country/vendor allocation and costing for their area of responsibility Drives competitive advantage and cost savings by leveraging volume of a Category to increase negotiating and buying power Ac countable for AUC targets, meeting development KPIs & capacity planning. Sets goals and targets for the team and coaches team to achieve goals; Responsible for capability development of the team- technical & leadership Leverages analysis and experience to identify and prioritize new sourcing opportunities and creates resource plans to achieve goals and targets for department within global Category Prioritizes and leads the continuous improvement process for programs within his/her purview Manages RDC team Accountable for category strategic initiatives under RSC. Has strong sourcing knowledge and regularly leverages external experts, associations, industry peers to identify and benchmark best practices Leverages strong influencing skills to define sourcing role and align objectives and targets with sourcing and brand business partners Oversees high visibility and complex competitive negotiation processes Partners with department leaders to identify needs and plan development and skill building for sourcing talent ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Global Production, Technical, Design, R&D, S&ER External : Vendors, Mills REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to build effective strategic relationships with across the organization and successfully partners across the category with internal and external stakeholders to drive results. Ability to collaborate and work seamlessly with Category team. Strong and effective written/oral/presentation skills in a global environment across different regions /countries. Ability to assess talent and manage, motivate and develop international/regional direct reports, including leaders of others, to higher levels of performance Demonstrate ability to deal head on with issues and challenging situations. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans and be objective in analysis. Demonstrated political and organizational savvy; can effectively and directly manages conflicting view points and challenging situations with minimal negative impact Advanced negotiation skills & the ability to influence peers and business partners to achieve business results Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; can see a problem from multiple angles and provide viable, innovative options for resolution Ability to effectively manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support unplanned work Ability to plan, prioritize, adapt and lead others through change, while achieving and maintaining business results for multiple projects. Possess ability to influence business partners to achieve results.
