Senior Analyst, Store Reporting & Analytics, Gap

This position will deliver relevant, actionable reporting and analysis that supports strong financial decision-making and store productivity and profitability improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for in-depth review and streamlining of current financial reporting processes between Gap Specialty & Outlet
  • Own store, regional and zone level key financial metric reporting for stores and leadership to track, assess and action performance
  • Support the Global Commercial Finance organization with reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Analyze sales lever trends to identify strategic and tactical opportunities to improve store controllable metrics
  • Analyze fleet productivity to identify recommendations to improve both productivity and profitability


10013Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience, preferably in the retail, consulting or banking industry
  • Demonstrated track record as an exemplary problem-solver and strategic thinker

– Able to quickly identify/frame key issues and develop hypotheses

– Able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments

– Economic and financial modeling skills, with ability to work with large, complex data sources

– Process improvement background and aptitude

– Ability to work in the details without losing sight of the big picture

– Business acumen related to consumer-facing businesses and ability to assess impact of decisions on overall business performance

  • Able to transform quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations and communicate them in a compelling way
  • Self-motivated: strong work ethic, follow-through and accountability for results
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; can confidently articulate a point of view but also highlight the risks and opportunities
  • Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase strongly preferred
