Senior Analyst, Consumer Insights

  • The Sr Analyst supports the Gap Inc. Consumer Insights team in delivering to the business regularly updated foundational customer understanding and consumer insights to inform better decision-making, high-quality, consistent product and shopping experiences, and differentiation through innovation
  • The team's work is focused on Gap Inc strategic initiatives that benefit the full portfolio of brands (Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, Intermix, Weddington Way)
  • In addition, you will be embedded in one of the brands to serve CI needs nimbly and to support ongoing transformation to more customer-centric decision making in the business
  • Role exposes you to a variety of areas including apparel product, digital/ store/ omni-shopping experience, and brand marketing
  • While your home base is the Consumer Insights team, you will be participating regularly on cross-functional teams toward Inc strategic initiatives and in brand meetings to integrate the consumer into current business, understand current priorities, and to proactively identify ways CI can help
  • You need to autonomously progress work forward with fast timelines and proactively raise key roadblocks while there is still opportunity to address them and either find a creative solution or seek help (e.g. competing priorities, methodological questions, learning new areas, organizational understanding of how things get done and decisions are made)
  • You represent Consumer Insights as more than a reliable service function; in addition, you demonstrate we are a strategic partner with an objective, fact-based point of view who will advise our brands and partners on how to win in an exciting, ever-changing, competitive marketplace
  • You are product obsessed, customer-focused, innovative, nimble, fast-moving and team-oriented

Key Responsibilities:

You're part of a flexible team of insights resources permitting you to work on a wide variety of tasks, projects, and teams such as:

  • Regular reporting and ad hoc analysis for the widely used Customer Experience Tracking program covering all brands, channels, and global markets
  • Gap Inc customer community/panel: develop surveys, moderate online, analyze & report results
  • Text analytics model development and ad hoc analysis
  • Development, refinement of Pricing studies
  • Participation in product wear testing
  • Ethnographic research including interviewing customers in stores and homes, digital usability, and observation
  • Proactively listening to partners and finding new ways to help

94105• 3-5+ years professional experience in Insights, Strategy, or Analysis

  • An analytic mind with proven experience applying structure to answer complex questions or problems
  • Comfortable interviewing people in person, sometimes on sensitive topics, experience strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, speaking, and communication skills
  • Enjoys learning from and teaching others
  • Experienced synthesizing information into a clear, simple story
  • Experience applying foundational statistical concepts, statistical software experience strongly preferred (e.g. SPSS, SAS)
  • Great presentation building skills
  • Positive attitude, can-do-anything, scrappy
  • College degree, higher-level degree preferred
