Seasonal Human Resources Generalist
GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for managing employee relations matters to ensure all employees are treated fairly, provided with competitive wages, benefits, and sound working conditions. Responsible for maintaining strong communication links between managers and employees and providing an attractive, challenging, and fun environment in which to work. This position will primarily work Sun-Thurs 2:00pm-10:00pm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ø Interact daily with management and employees to insure an open line of communication is maintained to identify and address any issues, needs, and/or concerns as they arise. Ø Conduct exit interviews and attend unemployment hearings. Ø Assist with recruitment and interviewing both non-exempt and exempt employees. Ø Assist in the planning and delivery of HR related programs and initiatives designed to strengthen our performance culture with highly engaged teams. Ø Partner with appropriate leadership team members to provide coaching to employees to resolve performance issues. Ø Conduct investigations regarding discrimination, sexual harassment, and employee disputes. Ø Identify and address diversity issues. Ø Provide guidance and assistance to all employees relative to their benefits and payroll. Ø Advise on employment law. Provide guidance and interpretation of current employment law. Ø Develop and facilitate training. Ø Develop, create, and administer Distribution Center policies (discrimination, sexual harassment, attendance, corrective action plans).
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Ø Must possess a sound knowledge of management-labor relations, employment law, practices and procedures within Human Resources Management.
Ø Office Suite Skills
Ø Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Ø Ability to make sound, independent decisions
Ø Must possess leadership skills (initiative, self-starter, influential, and drive)
Ø Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
Ø Effective organizational skills
Ø Comfortable with conducting presentations
Minimum Educational Level:
Ø Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Ø 5 years experience in Human Resources
Ø PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP certification preferred
Ø Distribution experience preferred
Ø Able to stand, walk, and speak effectively
