About the role
Summary of the role
The 'Real Estate & Other Enterprise Functions -Software Engineer" will be responsible for ongoing projects, support, monitoring and maintenance of the Real Estate application stack. Our footprint is comprised of more than 35 applications under Real Estate, Loss Prevention, Legal and other product areas. The successful individual will be expected to lead, support, maintain and coordinate with cross-functional teams, partner with business stakeholders and software & services providers to develop new capabilities and drive support for our production systems.
Engage with vendor partner to successfully support & maintain our production systems.
Build and lead the team on ongoing monitoring and maintenance of Real Estate, Loss Prevention, Legal and Others production systems.
Maintain and create appropriate documentation on Standard Operating Procedures.
Liaison with widely distributed & multi-cultural teams.
Create and maintain strong positive relationships with colleagues across the IT division and adopt/leverage from other application support teams.
Provide guidance to the team on technical and non-technical matters in resolving production incidents within pre-defined SLA's.
Take ownership and make educated decisions on high severity issues; coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams for a successful resolution.
Act as a single point of contact for high priority cases in application support, ensuring these are communicated to senior management, business and support teams via the correct process, within the time scales required.
Provide information to the management on a regular basis indicating performance and stability of systems/applications.
Identify application service improvement initiatives which result in improved service to business partners.
Utilize available data to identify and highlight trends and common faults, working with the teams to demonstrably resolve persistent problems.
Ensure early engagement in the application development process in defining support models consistent and appropriate with the defined overall application support strategy and approach.
Liaison with infrastructure & other application support teams for coordinating application outages during planned maintenance of H/W, N/W, OS, Database & applications.
Ensure in-scope system/user process adheres to Gap policy and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with Gap's Sarbanes-Oxley processes, best practices and IT policies and procedures.
Illustrate dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.
Ability to illustrate context and deployment diagrams for systems and integrations
Assume accountability for results, approach obstacles proactively and look for ways to resolve problems and issues.
Who you are
6-8 years of IT experiences in Real Estate, Loss Prevention, and Legal domain space.
Strong technical knowledge in MDM and IWMS platforms, CI/CD pipeline - GitHub, Jenkins, etc.
Strong technical knowledge in Java, Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, ETL tools, middleware technologies, Unix Scripting and CAWA Scheduling (batch processing and performance optimization)
Strong technical knowledge of IBM-TRIRIGA applications - Real Estate deal and Lease Management module:
ideally with functional experience of Loss Prevention and Legal package application
Practical expertise and experience in Application Development, Systems design, and Application Support and related IT disciplines in a package application context.
Ability to learn technology related to Gap specific applications.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues of high complexity with minimal supervision.
Ability to multi-task and shift focus between operational support and project activities.
Ability to understand complex and custom-developed business objects and packages.
Ability to navigate and influence teams, vendors, and external service providers. Proficient skills in listening, learning and interpreting.
Experience in managing the shiftotation plans.
Advanced teamwork skills with ability to manage widely distributed teams with the ability to adapt to various styles of communication.
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical & user-friendly language.
Understanding of WebSphere application server, tools, and architecture.
Experience in modern integration design such as Kafka and webservices.
Experience with ETL tool; ideally Datastage.
Experience/familiarity with IBM middleware technologies (e.g. Message Broker).
Experience with version control tool (e.g. Serena Dimensions).
Education: Preferred B.Tech or any equivalent degree
