The Gap Inc. Product Management Team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Payment Product team to drive product vision, strategy development and execution of the Payment experience and capabilities on our NextGen Point-of-Sale out of our San Francisco headquarters. Payment initiatives are key to Gap Inc. strategy: strengthening the relationship our customers have with our brands through integrating the digital and physical shopping experience. Partnering with technical, strategy and brand teams, the Product Management team builds capabilities to support the growth of our ecommerce sites and retail stores that both delight our customers and provide the company a competitive advantage.

The Payment Product Management team touches many different areas, but is primarily responsible for supporting the creation and management of the capabilities on our in-store retail experience. This individual will lead the effort to assess, innovate and evolve our payments capabilities. The role will be on the Payments and Loyalty team and report to the Director, Product Management.

The Senior Product Manager will work with the business stakeholders as well as store associates to identify problems to be solved, quantify the value in solving them, and determine how those problems can be solved via technology. They will consult with domain architects, User Experience, store operations teams, and other Product Managers and then partner with software engineering teams to deliver technology solutions which continuously improve the shopping experiences for our external customers while also providing enhanced capabilities for internal business partners.

Were seeking a technical problem solver with a track record of product innovation, leading complex projects independently and prioritizing features, bug fixes and technical debt to ensure the health and stability of our Product Database Platform.

• Evaluate emerging payment technologies and solutions

• Partner with technology or business stakeholders to set and track business goals for strategic initiatives
• Prioritize a clear and objective road-map and agile backlog while balancing delivery requirements with technical trade-offs and the impact of tech debt

• Proactively identify and resolve the inevitable challenges that arise during project execution
• Identify new opportunities and develop business cases for future projects
• Highlight progress through regular updates and product reviews
• Drive certainty when presented with ambiguity

• Support change management efforts for product solutions and convey key messages to customers and stakeholders

Qualifications/What you need to be successful:
• BS/BA required, MBA a plus
• 6+ years experience in product management -related roles and activities; must have owned the creation or modification of key technology capabilities / product areas
• Demonstrated technical acumen; ability to influence and debate solutions with technical team members, to understand technology solutions and potential tradeoffs and to represent technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Data-driven mindset
• Enjoyment of understanding complex logic and process of interconnected data flows throughout business work-stream
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to business leaders at all levels to influence key stakeholders across organizations

• Experience conducting customer interviews and user testing

• Experience running design sprints
