About the role

GENERAL Develop,execute and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans and strategiesthat support the merchandising, marketing and financial objectives of one ormore departments. Drive financial results that maximize sales, inventory andbottom line profitability. May also beasked to manage activities and career development of one or more of the Merchandise PlanningAnalysts.

Language: Fluency in English is a must, Mandarinpreferred and Shanhaigese/Japanese a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • OPERATIONS/FINANCIAL:
  • Managethe financial success of one or more departments by meeting sales, grossmargin, gross margin return on investment (GMROI) and inventory turn goals.
  • What you'll do
    • Analyzehistorical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities bydepartment and class.
    • Collaboratewith merchandising to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy thataligns future financial and product opportunities by department and class.
    • Createpre-season sales, gm, and inventory plans by department and class that supportproduct strategies.
    • Reconciletop-down to bottom-up class plans.
  • Recapand analyze actual sales results to plan, and forecast in-season sales andinventories on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis.
  • Identifyrisks and opportunities to business and recommend strategies to achievefinancial goals.
  • Ownopen to buy forecasts. Present financialforecast and supporting action plans in open to buy/monthly forecast meeting
  • Re-forecastsales and manage inventory for all basic styles to meet department financial goals.
  • Developand communicate department level markdown recommendations and strategies.
  • Participatein company and brand initiatives as appropriate.
  • COMMUNICATION:
  • Communicatefinancial results, forecasts, and action plans to manager and cross-functionalteam on a weekly basis.
  • Presentfinancial plans, forecasts and strategies in key meetings.
  • Communicatestandards and performance expectations to direct reports in a timely manner.
  • PEOPLELEADERSHIP/RELATIONSHIPS:
    • Supporta collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with peers andcross-functional team.
    • Providemanager with timely feedback on personal developmental and training needs.
    • Activelyparticipate in new hire training and assist in peer development (P&Dtraining, RMP).
    • Recognizeand acknowledge quality performance.
  • Collaboratewith peers to ensure consistency of information, share best-practices anddevelop systems knowledge.
  • Maymanage and support the career development process of one or more PlanningAnalysts to ensure job satisfaction, retention and future talent development(PP&A, IDP).
  • Mayprovide timely feedback and direction to direct reports to foster rapid skilldevelopment and performance improvement.
    • Developand maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functionalteam (merchandising, distribution, visual, production, planning, companyplanning).
    • Prioritizeand set expectations around key deliverables with cross-functional team andpeers.
    • Developcross-divisional relationships to share best practices.

    • Facilitywith personal computers, including the ability or aptitude to learn technicalapplications quickly
    • Proficientwith Microsoft Excel
    • Language:Fluency in English is a must, Mandarin preferred and Shanhaigese/Japanese aplus.
  • 2. Minimum educational level:
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
  • Previous experience desired:
    • 1-3 years experience as a Planner or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of retail buying, planning or related analytical experience
    4. Physical Requirements:
  • Mustbe able to operate a computer
  • Willingnessto travel overseas
