Job Summary:

Athleta's Company Planning Manager owns the total brand's tops-down sales, margin, and inventory planning and forecasting processes. You are an influential financial partner to Athleta's Inventory Management, Marketing, Stores, Ecommerce, and Customer teams as well as our brand and corporate FP&A teams. You are critical in bringing Athleta's strategic priorities to fruition in our financials and ensuring that we continue to accelerate our growth!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Scope: Total Brand, US, Online and Stores channels.
  • Recap and analyze business results versus budget, forecast and history on a daily/monthly/quarterly and ad-hoc basis. Draw actionable insights and articulate them to a variety of cross-functional teams.
  • Manage a team of 2 Senior Analysts, one overseeing Stores and one overseeing Online. Own sales, margin, and inventory forecasting for Omnichannel.
  • Roll up and manage tops-down daily, weekly, and monthly sales projections to support the monthly corporate forecast processes. Clearly articulate the strategies behind the forecast. Own regular risk and opportunity assessments of sales, margin, and inventory.
  • Serve as liaison to corporate and brand FP&A teams.
  • Develop sales and inventory budgets for future seasons. Partner with Inventory Planning, Marketing, and Finance teams to assess and communicate the impact of strategic initiatives during pre-season milestones.
  • Manage the annual company planning omni budget process.
  • Develop ad hoc financial models and analysis that clearly quantify the cost / benefit of key and new business initiatives. Initiate analyses to solve problems, create alternatives, and provide recommendations to leadership based on quantitative and objective analysis.
  • Support executive level presentations including Board of Directors, Quarterly Business Reviews, Leadership Team and other internal brand meetings
  • Advance current processes through technology, automation and process improvement. Partner with IT team to ensure that IT initiatives have Athleta needs and strategies as a priority.

  • Insightful and analytical thought partner with strong financial acumen and high proficiency in financial/analytical modeling and forecasting.

  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and technically savvy
  • Great storyteller; makes sense of a vast range of information from multiple sources to conceptualize, drive creativity, problem solve, and follow through on action.

  • Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects and ad hoc requests with tight timelines.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and proven ability to develop effective and influential business relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including ability to learn and master company systems/tools and create process efficiencies.
  • Omnichannel experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of financial planning, forecasting and analysis experience required. Experience in Company Planning or Inventory Planning preferred.
  • Very strong command of Microsoft Excel. Essbase, Omniture, NOVA and Venus a plus.
