Maintenance Technician II

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is to understand the full operation of all maintenance functions and to be able to relate to complex instructions on maintenance items and special projects. To work as a team participant or work safely alone on any building or equipment repair. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ø Ability to conduct routine repairs/tasks with shop equipment: Ø Band saw Ø Arc and Mig welders Ø Torch Ø Install copper tubing Ø Hydraulic press; drill press; grinder Ø Perform conveyor maintenance tasks: Ø Critical preventative and predictive maintenance Ø Motor and speed reducer rebuilds Ø ID, research, and cross-reference parts Ø Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot complex sortation systems Ø Perform forklift maintenance tasks: Ø Critical preventative and predictive maintenance Ø Drive unit and component rebuilds Ø ID, research, and cross-reference parts Ø Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot forklift components and systems Ø Perform associated maintenance tasks on 480v 3-phase electrical system (to include all subsystems): Ø Critical preventative and predictive maintenance Ø ID, research, and cross-reference parts Ø Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace system components Ø Perform advanced conveyor system controls maintenance: Ø Proper use of electrical PPE and tools Ø Size and install electrical circuits Ø Troubleshooting – to include use of wiring diagrams; ability to interrupt relay logic Ø PLC – basic understanding of ladder logic and navigation of software to troubleshoot Ø Perform general plumbing tasks Ø Lead special projects Ø Communicate with fellow workers on a technical level Ø Must remain proficient in all the maintenance areas required at our facility Ø Able to operate all maintenance tools to include forklifts and lift equipment

Required Qualifications:

Ø Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Ø Full understanding and ability of Maintenance Mechanic II classification

Ø Welding and interpretation of mechanical and electrical drawings

Ø Minimum educational level:

Ø High school education & additional technical schooling is desired

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:

Can be called upon to work on any maintenance repair or project, or be used on any type work needed when working as a team participant.
