Maintenance Supervisor (2nd Shift Hours)

GENERAL SUMMARY: This hours for this position is M-F (some weekends) from 4pm to 12pm . This position provides direct leadership of the maintenance staff on the assigned team. The supervisor has direct responsibility to support the daily facility operation and manage the maintenance team to complete the weekly maintenance plan. Supervisors ensure team members remain current with all safety requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop People – Ability to coach, lead and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians with different skill sets. Establish clear performance objectives for direct reports. Complete performance appraisals and provide regular feedback to technicians. Schedule training for technicians according to development needs. Participate in hiring process for department personnel Maintain and support all policies and procedures and administers corrective action as necessary Equipment Maintenance – Oversee maintenance of facility equipment to achieve key performance goals with regard to uptime, cost per unit, and utilization. Provide regular feedback on performance. Assist in development of preventative and predictive maintenance program. Oversee effectiveness and schedule work. Insure proper recording of all work orders in CMMS system, and utilize data to identify trends in repairs, evaluate equipment performance, and update business partners on work schedules and accomplishments. Facilities Maintenance – Responsible for supervision of any contractors and vendors operating within the facility on assigned shift Oversee upkeep of facility according to calendar and quality guidelines. Provide clean and safe work environment. Support janitorial staff by providing tools and supplies necessary to perform work. Complete facility improvement projects, such as painting, striping, etc. Understand the impact of all maintenance functions and how they directly impact the operations of the facility Ability to oversee and troubleshoot maintenance/construction projects consisting of welding, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, plumbing , HVAC and building systems Department Safety – Implement and enforce proper safety practices by all department personnel. Insure all equipment safety devices are intact and in working condition. Ability to lead and train staff in the following programs: Lock Out / Tag Out, conveyor safety, proper PM procedures, working knowledge of NEC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, HAZMAT Responsible for implementation and adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures Project Management – Ability to communicate, direct and delegate complex instructions on maintenance items and special projects to staff or our customers Maintain current project list for facility and provide status updates to business partners Ability to assist in developing Maintenance budgets, control internal departmental operating costs, assist in maintaining Capital project expenditures and reduce daily expenses with-in the department Interface with vendors to build business partnerships ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Maintenance Manager.

Strong written and oral communication skills—to include MS Office applications

Strong interpersonal skills

Minimum Experience –

3 years of practical experience in material handling system maintenance and 3 years of maintenance leadership responsibility


Stand and walk for up to 100% of shift

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 20-30 lbs. for approximately 50% of shift

Ability to go up and down stairs up to 10% of shift

Reach at shoulder level for approximately 50% of shift

Reach overhead for approximately 10% of shift

Must have sufficient arm/hands dexterity to operate equipment

Sufficient sight to accurately read essential operational equipment
