GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of the Distribution Center. This includes designated areas in the warehouse, restrooms, break rooms and office areas of the facility. Work within safety guidelines and under the guidance of the maintenance supervisors. Willing to work any and all shifts including weekends and overtime ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: •Cleaning and Sanitization of assigned areas according to the frequency indicated on your assigned schedule. Listed are some examples: Cleaning of air vents, windows, spills, counters, trash receptacles, desks and restrooms •Cleaning of floors to include detail cleaning – strip & wax. Empty trash and recycle bins •Notify Maintenance Supervision of any building problems (i.e. leaking faucets, burnt out light bulbs, inoperable dispensers) •Ability to effectively utilize all janitorial equipment •Maintain the expected inventory levels in the janitorial supply closets •Make supply purchasing recommendations to Maintenance Assistant Supervisor •Provide Custodial Training as needed •Maintain expected level of cleanliness in all assigned work areas •Ability to consistently perform cleaning tasks maintaining the expected level of cleanliness in all areas •Department Safety – Responsible for following all safety guidelines and procedures •On Target performance of all tasks listed and other duties as assigned •Maintain open communication channels with the Maintenance Associates, Maintenance Management, and DC Management

1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times

2) Minimum experience:

  • 1 year of practical experience as a custodian is preferred


  • Stand and walk for up to 100% of shift
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 20-30 lbs. for approximately 50% of shift
  • Ability to go up and down stairs up to 10% of shift
  • Reach at shoulder level for approximately 50% of shift
  • Reach overhead for approximately 10% of shift
  • Must have sufficient arm/hands dexterity to operate equipment
  • Sufficient sight to accurately read essential operational equipment
