eCommerce, Associate Merchandising Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Merchandise Planning Manager manages sales budget, financial forecasting, investment plans, and sales & inventory plans for one or more dominant divisions from investment through exit at the product/category/item level for Old Navy China eCommerce. He/She is responsible for ensuring that the development and management of assortment, demand and inventory plans achieve overall eCommerce financial goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: OPERATIONS/FINANCIAL : Work with finance team to set sales budget, and determine online OTB plans by season. Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan, and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis. Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by department and class. Manage the reconciliation of class-to-department bottoms-up plans for multiple complex areas. Develop the product line of ecommerce exclusives to meet online customers’ need and preferences Participate in company and brand initiatives as appropriate. PEOPLE LEADERSHIP/RELATIONSHIPS: Support a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with peers and cross-functional team. Provide timely feedback and direction to direct supervisor to foster rapid skill development and performance improvement. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines Demonstrate logical analytical skills Basic technical PC skills, including the ability to learn technical applications quickly Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Language: Fluency in English Minimum educational level: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required Previous experience desired: 5+ year experience at merchandising/inventory planning; Experience in fashion/apparel industry is preferred; People management experience is a plus; SUCCESS AT GAP GREATER CHINA REQUIRES: - Results orientated & fast learning - The ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment - A collaborative style and enjoyment in working with a results-driven, cross-functional team - Integrity and alignment with company values - Confidence and perseverance - The ability to influence peers and senior leaders
