Divisional Merchandise Manager, Knit The Divisional Merchandising Manager of Category Sourcing VM team will have responsibility for Fabric Booking, Sample Garment Development and WIP processes. S/he leads and develops a team to drive competitive advantage and cost savings for Gap Inc. by leveraging the department volume within a Category to increase negotiating and buying power. S/he will be responsible for overseeing the negotiation & allocation process across geographies and vendors, and the placement of programs on behalf of the brands. S/he will be responsible for developing strong, effective internal and external business partner relationships for the department which will lead to on-going strategic partnerships. Job Responsibilities: Manages end-to-end supply chain for his/her area of responsibility with detailed knowledge of seasonal product, vendors and costs Leverages strong influencing skills to align targets with sourcing and brand business partners Assign Product Development Raw Material per vendor Has strong sourcing knowledge and regularly leverages external experts, associations, industry peers to identify and benchmark best practices Holds vendors accountable to performance agreements and determines when course corrections are necessary and leads the execution Oversees new vendor onboarding & training. Oversees, and conducts as needed, high visibility and complex competitive negotiation processes Builds effective strategic relationships with business partners and successfully leverages these relationships across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive the results for which this position is accountable Facilitates/executes the continuous improvement process for programs identified within his/her purview Shares best in practices with other teams, functions, channels and geographies Requirements: Bachelor's degree in textile, merchandising, business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred Minimum of 12 years work experience in merchandise sourcing, development and production with at least 2 years in leading a team Strong Merchandise Sourcing and end-to-end supply chain knowledge Detailed knowledge of seasonal products, vendors and costs Demonstrated ability to deal head-on with issues and challenging situations Strong planning and negotiation skills including the ability to influence at all levels Ability to plan, prioritize and adapt to change while achieving and maintaining results for multiple projects Strong abilities to manage, motivate and develop others Ability to effectively manage and plan resources to achieve goals and support unplanned work Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; can see a problem from multiple angles and provide viable, innovative options for resolution Excellent written and spoken English communication & presentation skills Proficient in MS Office Suite.
