District Visual Merchandising Manager


The District Visual Manager ensures the integrity of Gap Brand through consistent execution of merchandising direction within a district.The District Visual Manager leads the Area Visual Managers in developing strategies to deliver well merchandised, visually engaging stores that meet the needs of the business.The DVM provides training, leadership, guidance and inspiration to the district and store VM team.


  • Supports teams to drive KPI's performance through influence of product presentation and store merchandising
  • Leads Gap visual proposition to maintain brand integrity but not compromise business commerciality
  • Partners with the District Manager to drive and align district strategy
  • Uses appropriate tools in line with brand thinking to train and develop district on visual standards
  • Has Expert product knowledge and utilizes information through visual communication and strategy
  • Drives and supports the recruitment and development of visual team\resources in district、 Actively supports orientation of Visual Supervisor or Managers in store
  • Mentor and develop individuals to reach their highest potential by providing in- the -moment coaching, training and feedback
  • Plans and leads VM training workshops and district meetings using appropriate tools in line with brand thinking to train and develop district on visual standards
  • Ensure teams know and understand the brand strategy and how their work impacts the organization and results
  • Effectively communicates visual concerns in store and supports teams to develop action plans
  • Oversees the implementation of all visual presentation and ensures the Visual Presentation Assessment (VPA) meets Brand standards
  • Holds teams accountable to presentation book standards, adjusting visual presentation to consistently ensure brand appropriateness
  • Actively Maps and plans merchandise flow and product placement with store teams
  • Consistently and regularly conducts store visits, collecting feedback from stores and scoring each division based on the VPA filters; provide timely follow-up
  • Communicates the brand vision and direction to the team and the field organization at large
  • Influences store\district strategy by working closely with district manager/ store teams to align visual goals with that of the store and district
  • Is capable to work through remote management and is self-motivated when working in isolation

2) Minimum Education Level
• Bachelor Degree

3) Experience Required
• Minimum of 3yrs of retail management, including visual merchandising and presentation experience
