Job Title: DevOps Engineer II

Job Description: Build, maintain, and support enterprise production systems with a business mindset, keeping an eye towards simplicity, reliability, maintainability, scalability, extensibility, performance, and minimum downtime. Build, operationalize, and maintain IT solutions for customers. Understand and deliver on key business objectives. Drive resolution of operational and production issues in a timely-manner. Ensure all production systems are always-up and always-available. Leverage IT solutions, monitoring and alerting tools, and custom automation whenever possible. Provide operational support for all business users of production systems. Partner with development teams to develop operationally sustainable features in production systems. Partner with technical and business teams to identify, prioritize, and implement operational and production systems improvements and improvements to site availability and uptime. Designing and implementing IT solutions. Partner with IT peers to define and implement solutions to operational bottlenecks. Participate in driving technical and architecture roadmaps, leading the operational aspect, to drive towards maximizing scalability, performance, and up-time.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and eight years of experience in job offered or related occupation. Employer will accept 1 year of related experience for each year missing towards the required four year bachelor's degree.

Experience and/or education must include:

  1. 8 years of experience with building, maintaining, enhancing, and ensuring 24/7 uptime and site availability for enterprise inventory systems, warehousing management systems, and enterprise order management systems in support of a global eCommerce website;

  2. 8 years of experience designing and building IT systems for 24/7 operational readiness;

  3. 3 years of experience with Unix, Linux, Shell Scripting, Continuous Integration, Jenkins, Electric Commander, Git, GitHub, SVN, Oracle, PL/SQL, Toad, Postgres, HBase, IBM MQ, Splunk, Thruk, Graphite, Grafana, Espresso, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, Yantra, Sterling Commerce, Java, XML, JSON, WebServices, and REST Services;

  4. 2 years of experience with OpenStack, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and Chef, Cloud-based solutions.

  5. 8 years of experience with managing a 24/7 enterprise eCommerce systems and its inventory management and order fulfillment functions;

  6. 5 years of experience with RetekWarehouse Management;

  7. 3 years of experience with application of Agile Techniques;

  8. 3 years of experience with continuous Delivery; and

  9. 2 years of experience with Business experimentation techniques including Lean Startup, Validated Learning, and Design Thinking techniques.
