RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for managing the design process from concept to completion while partnering with the Director to ensure alignment on priorities and direction.
  • Consistently research marketplace for inspiration and opportunities in product, fabric, wash, color and trims.
  • Research, identify and present trend direction.
  • Develop Tech packs including flat sketches, BOMS, and design direction.
  • Create and present design boards for each season showcasing silhouette, fabric, color and wash range.
  • Partner with merchandising to assort line and develop product appropriate for business needs.
  • Collaborate with a large cross function team to create a cohesive, brand right, assortment.
  • Seasonal travel for research and/or product development is required.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 4 - 6 years design experience, experience with wovens strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge menswear fit, fabric, construction details and color
  • Experience in working with woven fabrication, including yarndye and print techniques
  • Proficient sketching in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
  • PLM or PLM system experience
  • Strong Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight timelines
  • Ability to identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the brand/ consumer.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish good relationships with cross functional business partners and fellow designers
  • College degree in Fashion Design or a related field
