Design Manager

INTERMIX is seeking an innovative, forward-thinking Senior Designer with sophisticated, highly refined visual style to join its dynamic and collaborative creative team. The Senior Designer will lead production design, UX, and a talented team of Junior Designers.


  • Drive the seasonal look and feel of the INTERMIX digital presence, including website, emails, and external advertising. Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear and compelling, and advance the overall brand aesthetic
  • Lead design efforts on all printed material, including seasonal Look Books, mailers, and in-store collateral
  • Oversee design and execution of in-store signage
  • Produce design templates, storyboards, motion-based prototype
  • Partner closely with Creative Production, Editorial, and Styling teams to bring content to life across multiple channels via color palette and art direction
  • Partner closely with Site Merchandising and UX teams to create actionable, compelling, results-driven experiences across INTERMIX website
  • Manage design team—including three junior staffers and potential freelancers—including daily workload and individual development. Set clear roles, responsibilities and expectations of all projects to ensure that the design output is brand appropriate, and all marketing requirements are completed on time, and with the highest standard possible, for both internal and external reviews




  • Strong knowledge of design fundamentals, layout, typography, information hierarchy, and web specifications. Expert in ideas generation and collaboration with copy and photography creative partners
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of InDesign and Adobe CS3/4/5, Mac OS X expert
  • 6+ years professional experience in graphic design
  • 3+ years management experience
  • BFA in Graphic Design or related area
