Brand Manager, Latin America – Gap Inc. Strategic Alliances


As brand guardian for all Gap Inc. brands in your region you will ensure global brand consistency across all customer facing channels throughout the region by guiding franchise partners in translating the global marketing strategies into locally relevant marketing campaigns.

This exciting and fast-moving role is focused primarily on managing relationships and the marketing mix in territories where the brand already has presence whilst developing the brand and marketing capabilities for any new markets and channels. Relocation is not offered for this position.


Partner Management

  • Present all brands seasonal marketing strategies to the franchise marketing teams and the regional support team for alignment on seasonal direction and focus
  • Project manage franchise partners to develop & execute locally relevant full marketing mix campaigns including ABT & BTL initiatives which complement the brands global goals & objectives & franchise partner's business objectives with key internal stakeholders
  • Monitor seasonal performance across all brands and cascade learnings, opportunities and successes with the regional team and wider marketing function
  • Influence & approve media plans & budget with franchise partners to meet all Gap Inc. brands objectives
  • Influence and monitor partners annual contractual marketing investment across channels and brands
  • Provide strategic direction & guidance to franchise partners for new store openings, country launches and ecommerce launches across brands
  • On-board new partners and key contacts to all Gap Inc. brands within your region

Regional Expert

  • Interpret market research data & apply findings when guiding on marketing strategies
  • Keep abreast of competitor activity and market developments in your territories to help inform future decisions
  • Influence franchise partners to adopt new technologies and media channels according to market maturity
  • Establish, build and maintain strong partnerships with your regions key contacts
  • Conduct market visits (as required)

Support & Communications

  • Attend annual brand conferences & assist in delivering franchise partner education
  • Work closely and effectively with key internal stakeholders: marketing, PR, VM, Planning, Digital & CRM Manager, Social Manager, Design, Learning & Development, Finance & Regional leads
  • General financial & administration duties

Guidance / Organizational Relationships

  • Responsible for translating business objectives into tangible marketing objectives
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects at one time - should be able to prioritize workload to meet deliverables
  • Primary contact for all brand day-to-day requests and issues in the region
  • Will use proven proactive & persuasion skills to ensure market and all brands objectives are met
  • Will be the in-market brand guardian and marketing expert to be able to guide partners in sound strategy planning and decision-making

  • Ability to problem solve independently & through strong partnerships with regional business partners
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally & externally with stakeholders to help make informed decisions
  • Works well with creative lead to translate objectives into clear, actionable creative direction

  • Solid territory knowledge of retail landscape and market sensitivities
  • Customer centric & data-driven approach to marketing the a passion and interest in the ever-evolving online space
  • Highly flexible, open minded and adapts well to changing environments
  • Comfortable with a mix of strategic and tactical assignments
  • Test and learn mentality
  • Broad marketing experience necessary – local marketing, media planning and buying, social, CRM, events, digital with an understanding of PR basics
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability to motivate & influence internally and externally
  • Detail oriented with proven accuracy through self-motivation & use of initiative
  • A "can-do" attitude & be willing/effective in working as part of an extended cross-functional team
  • Excellent project management, planning & organizational skills with an ability to manage several tasks at once
  • Proven ability to plan clearly & strategically excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Proactive & detail oriented, with strong analytical, organizational & communication skills and a keen sense of urgency
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, while working under strict deadlines
  • Ability to be self-directed especially in periods of ambiguity

Minimum Education Level

  • Language skills desirable
  • Educated to degree level preferable

Minimum Experience

  • Prior brand management experience in either single or multi brand
  • Proven experience within the region
  • Experience of working in new & established markets including new market openings
  • Fashion Apparel experience
  • Worked within a franchise structure highly favorable
  • Budget management experience
  • People management experience

Physical Requirements

  • Able to travel to region as business requires
  • Attending late night or early morning conference calls
