About the role
The Inventory Strategy group designs, creates, and implements inventory and price optimization capabilities that enable Gap Asia to manage business in a localized manner throughout the product lifecycle. Projects are designed to create sustainable competitive advantages that generate significant financial return and enhance the customer experience.
The Analyst is primarily responsible for executing reporting, performing analysis, creating & maintaining tools, and providing support for identifying, evaluating, and capturing strategic opportunities across Inventory Management. They will own and manage the execution of cross-functional reporting, and tools initiatives for the brand across all markets and channels for Planning, Allocation & Merchandising teams. The Analyst will ensure that the right reporting and tools are published in a timely, accurate manner to enable the end-to-end Asia model, and work within their team to ensure proper maintenance and support of the tools for their life.
What you'll do
Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management & merchandising reporting, tools, and initiatives that support overall company and brand objectives.
Own IM/Merch reporting execution and accuracy to enable business analysis, accurate forecasting, and systemic/process improvements through reporting and tools, which should complement standard systems across total Asia.
Provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and resolving strategic opportunities.
Prepare presentation documents and assist in presenting findings to all levels of management
Work with internal IS team as well as cross-functional team to bring form / structure to ambiguous situations.
Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends to introduce continual process, tool and methodology improvements.
Proactively surface and communicate business issues
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Strong strategic thinking skills with ability to perform analysis at a low level of detail
Demonstrated hypothesis-driven problem solving orientation with ability to create structured analyses from disparate sources of information
Experience with strategic and quantitative analysis - ability to gather and interpret data
Strong research sources and modeling techniques
Strong oral, written, and formal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple ways to all levels of the organization
Execution and results focused, with emphasis on on-time delivery, ability to structure complex work streams and work independently and with teams
Ability to drive results across simultaneous projects under tight time pressures
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
1+ years work experience required
Technical/Excel aptitude with experience in an academic environment
Experience in supply chain management / inventory management industry preferred
Four-year college degree or equivalent required
