PT Packaging Inserter 1
Gannett Publishing Services, part of The USA Today Network, is seeking a qualified part-time packaging inserter, based at The Desert Sun, Palm Springs, CA. This position assists with accurate and timely assembly of newspapers and newspaper packages. Inserters are trained in stacking and feeding pre-printed inserts in machinery while maintaining optimum quality and meeting daily deadlines. Duties include: jogging stacks of preprints, stacking newspapers on pallets, using powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, lifting up to 35 pounds, standing 95% of a shift and pushing/pulling up to 600 pounds on carts or pallet jacks. Applicants must be comfortable working around loud, high speed machines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented production environment. We are looking for candidates willing to work up to 25-hours per week. A high school diploma or equivalent is required as is a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation. Prior experience in manufacturing or assembly function is a plus. Starting pay is $11.00/hour.
