PT Operations Coordinator

FLORIDA TODAY in Melbourne FL is seeking a part time Circulation Department Logistics Operation Coordinator. The Operations Coordinator position is responsible for supporting the daily functional needs for home delivery and single copy in the logistics and distribution operations. The position’s daily duties include loading newspaper carts and delivery trucks, staging newspapers on the dock and in the distribution centers, distributing newspaper products to contractors, coordinating daily reports in logistics, single copy and home delivery, preparation of daily operating centers, maintaining all work areas and all other duties and special projects assigned. The Operations Coordinator must have good communication skills, the ability to calculate accurately mathematical problems utilizing basic math skills, basic computer skills, coordinate several tasks simultaneously, think creatively and follow instructions. The following requirements are a must: a valid driver’s license with proof of insurance, good driving record and reliable transportation. Have the availability to work late nights and early morning shifts along with weekends and holidays, as needed. The ability to repetitively lift newspaper bundles weighing between 10-20 lbs., push carts weighing up to 500 lbs. loaded with newspaper bundles, stoop, bend and carry newspaper bundles. The ability to communicate fluently in English, speaking Spanish is a plus. This is an overnight position.
