The Pacific Daily News is looking for a News Assistant. This is a part-time 25-hour a week position. The newsroom assistant supports the clerical needs of the Information Center: enters news items into computer using required software; follows all quality standards of style, grammar, spelling, content and length for all copy assigned for typing and formatting; archives news stories; maintains the newsroom library; verifies reader submissions and other clerical duties as assigned by the executive editor. Excellent grammar, punctuation and proofreading abilities required. Background in English, Communication and/or Literature is advantageous.
