Job Function:

Repair, maintain and perform preventive maintenance on production equipment located at the production facility. This position requires strong electrical and/or mechanical knowledge, while working in an industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment relating to or impacting press performance, quality, or cost effectiveness.

2. Troubleshoots and repairs defective or mal-functioning press or press related equipment.

3. Researches and orders parts needed to implement repairs and maintenance.

4. Maintains maintenance logs and records.

Related Experiences:

Minimum five years related work experience required. Ability to read blueprints and sufficient computer skills required for diagnostic applications. Ability to use precision instruments and measuring tools. Proven ability (by experience) to work under deadline with a sense of urgency. Experience and knowledge of OSHA and city/state codes for compliance.

Electrical: Ability to read pneumatic and electrical schematics/wiring diagrams; ability to use testing equipment; experience with PLC controllers; experience uploading programs to a CPU & downloading to a laptop; synchronous and asynchronous motors, and understanding of AC frequency drive controllers, instrumentation and measurements.

Mechanical: Knowledge of fluid and air power devices (air cylinders/pneumatics); working knowledge and ability to use lathes, milling machines, drill presses, plasma cutters, hydraulic presses, band saw, welding equipment, metal spray and various other power equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude.

Education:

High School diploma; one to two years mechanical and electrical experience is highly preferred.

Technical Skill Sets:

Light computer ability for record keeping, strong mechanical and medium electrical knowledge.

Ability to communicate well with vendors, ability to prioritize work. Complete and demonstrated understanding of OSHA Hazardous Chemical Communication and Lock-Tagout standards.

Must be able to troubleshoot problems and find a way to solve them in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate with outside vendors as well as other technicians and production employees. Must be able to work in confined areas, on forklifts and clamp trucks, on the press superstructure, or in the reel room.

The workplace is noisy. This position mandates shift work with occasional overtime necessary to complete tasks. Weekend and holiday schedules may be necessary due to workloads.
