Graphic Design Intern - Studio Gannett - Fall/Winter 2016

The Studio Gannett design team is seeking a graphic design intern for Fall/Winter 2016. This person will assist with the design and production of our newspaper products and lifestyle magazines.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

  • Designing “Your Essential Shopper” (YES!)—our weekly six-page shopping guide, using Adobe InDesign
  • Designing magazine pages
  • Designing and executing graphic creations for marketing collateral as needed
  • Working closely with art director and project managers
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Here’s what you need:

  • Experience in print design
  • Demonstrated proficiency with design software including Adobe CS5+, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Relevant coursework and/or internship experience in graphic design or related fields
  • 3-4 design samples
  • Great attention to detail, ability to multitask, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-pace, deadline-driven environment
  • 3.0 minimum overall GPA

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Outstanding visual communication skills
  • Web design/illustration skills
  • Advanced Adobe knowledge and/or experience with magazine layout

Internship type:

This is a full-time paid internship and we will work with you and your school to support academic credit, if applicable.
