We deliver an ENGAGED AUDIENCE using a variety of SOPHISTICATED TOOLS and resources, and provide our clients the INTEGRATED MARKETING EXPERTISE to help them meet their goals.

Position Objective: This position will support the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in the planning, and execution of programs and events which include the Sports Show, Wine and Dine Wisconsin, Land the Big Gig, Top Workplaces, High School Sports Awards, as well as other internal and external company events, in addition to supporting overall MJS brands.

An ideal candidate will have experience with executing high impact, revenue generating programs and events for major corporations, its employees and/or key stakeholders. They will be responsible for hands-on activation. This person will handle a wide range of activities requiring clear communication and excellent organizational skills with the need to respond quickly to change or make adjustments that ensure a smooth and efficient event.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for having a good understanding of all Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Gannett/USA Today Network brands, marketing programs, partnerships and our signature events.

Must be able to write and recommend revisions for program and event sponsorship contracts. Must have thorough knowledge of amenities and MJS product offerings.

Activation of program and events and their contract terms, including: activating on amenities as outlined in event or sponsorship contracts. Ensuring insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are adhered to. Be onsite and present at all events through duration.

Professionalism with customers, various internal departments, Sales Reps, Managers, Directors, and vendors.

This position also includes duties outside normal business hours, and outside the building.

Attend and mange off-site events as a Journal Sentinel representative.

Qualifications & Requirements:

BA in Marketing, Communications, Business or equivalent.

Event planning and project management experience.

Proven experience in delivering results and driving revenue through internal and external channels.

Proven ability to manage multiple internal and external relationships to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Willingness to work outside the strict job description parameters, thinking creatively about how to provide the highest level of customer/member service.

Willingness to perform duties outside normal business hours, and outside the building.

Key Competencies:

Must be a team leader with a high sense of accountability and ownership.

Need the ability to work both independently and collaboratively on various marketing promotions and initiatives.

Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Willingness to travel as needed.

This person should be proficient with computer, including Outlook and Microsoft Suite of products.

Strong public relations skills, interpersonal skills and must be able to build rapport easily.

Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and achieve established goals is a must.

Ability to handle multiple projects with varied and overlapping time frames.

Must hold a valid Wisconsin driver’s license, as some travel is required.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a computer terminal, required walking. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
