ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS:

Repairs and maintainsvariable speed digital/analog AC and DC drives;electro-mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic automated machine controls;manufacturing/material handling equipment and controls; electrical powerdistribution equipment; lighting systems and controls; fire alarm/securitysystems; intercoms and building automation systems. Installs control systems, electricalpower distribution equipment, wiring systems and devices, lighting systems andcontrols, computer and telephone cabling, fire alarm/security/CTV/MATV systems;intercoms and building automation systems. Maintains records. Handles andapplies hazardous materials in a manner compliant with Federal, State,Municipal, and Gannett Publishing Services rules andregulations. Perform all duties and functions in accordance with Federal,State, Municipal, and Gannett Publishing Services rules and regulations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED,minimum of four years of trade school and completed apprenticeship (Journeymancertification required). Five years industrial experience at thejourneyman level. Must be available to work any shift (days, swings, ornights – including Saturdays and Sundays) at Gannett PublishingServices / Greenville location.

SPECIFIC SKILLS &ABILITIES:

Effectively able to readblueprints and schematics, work independently and in teams as required, quicklytroubleshoot automated equipment, maintain knowledge in the NFPA NationalElectrical Code and use of a variety of electrical test equipment. Haveknowledge in industrial electronics and controls and electrical construction toolsand materials. Good communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standing, walking, sitting,lifting (50 lbs.), carrying (50 lbs.), pushing or pulling (600 lbs. on wheels,on level ground), climbing, balancing, driving, tactile dexterity, stooping,kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, keyboarding (15 wpm), speaking,hearing, seeing (with full color vision, and depth perception).
