Digital Planner/Producer

Times Delta Media is hiring a Digital Planner/Producer. The Digital Planner/Producer oversees the programming, production, packaging and promotion of digital newsroom content. You will work in conjunction with the Design Center on proofing specific print covers, be responsible for how customers consume and respond to digital content, including the use of audience feedback to better engage readers. You’ll makes daily digital content decisions based on insights on data and research providing a high-level of sophistication and polish to digital packaging, presentation and storytelling. Conceptualize, develop, build, test, launch, enhance and maintain digital news and information products and applications intended to grow local audience and engagement. Serve as the in-house expert on newsroom content management systems and digital development tools. Act as a project manager with newsroom staff to collaborate on and create digital solutions to grow audience.

Typical duties include:

  • Develop and constantly work to improve audience interaction, which is focused on understanding customer

behavior and engaging them while applying digital traffic patterns knowledge to all products, applications

and solutions.

  • Develop and implement strategy for improving the users’ experience and expanding customer base.
  • Serve as liaison between the marketing department and newsroom.
  • Be an active voice in the community, promoting platforms and experiences.
  • Initiate and oversee product development.
  • Provide high-level sophistication and polish to digital packaging, presentation and storytelling.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain digital news and information products and applications.
  • Apply your technical abilities to help journalists create successful community connections and marketing

Initiatives while serving as a source of ideas.

  • Assist with regular system maintenance, trouble-shooting, site updates and system administration for the newsroom, including digital servers.
  • Monitor audience behavior and digital traffic patterns and apply that knowledge to all news products, applications and solutions. Utilize audience analytics to ensure work is focused on satisfying target audience needs.
  • Manage development projects, including timelines and adherence to SOPs.
  • Provide great customer service, helping readers find answers and solutions.

You’ll need:

  • Advanced knowledge of social media and customer feedback tools, including how to respond and engage customers on digital platforms in the public space.

  • Deep understanding of and curiosity about competition for our customers’ time and money.
  • Working knowledge of basic and some advanced computer programs and tools, including Microsoft’s Office Suite and Adobe products including Photoshop, Illustrator, DreamWeaver, InDesign.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret audience data.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Effective communicator; able to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Able to multi-task, excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing environment and use time effectively in an always-on workday.
  • Works collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
  • Must embrace peer-to-peer training, as both a teacher and student.
  • Applies innovative, creative thinking to support the company’s goals.
  • Writing, spelling, grammar, AP and local style.
  • Command of media law and Principles of Ethical Conduct.
