As a division of the world’s leading investment manager BlackRock, our mission is to help “everyday families achieve better financial outcomes.” We fulfill this mission by delivering digital financial management software through partner financial institutions to serve their end clients.

We’re growing at a rapid rate and we are looking to hire a Head of Implementations to lead our efforts with major financial institution partners to implement and deploy our digital wealth management solution. This team leads engagements with our partners and drives timelines and deployment of our solution across multiple technical, marketing, operational and business work streams. The Head of Implementations is a critical leader in the firm and will be a member of the Executive Committee.

Responsibilities:

· Lead the Implementations Team

o Oversee team of 8+ people, including several Directors of Implementations who are responsible for the implementation at each of our financial institution partners

o Carry ultimate responsibility for the delivery of each individual implementation - dig into individual implementations as necessary to keep them on track

o Be a Steering Committee member for all active implementations

o Build senior-level relationships with project sponsors and business leads at our partners

· Represent and advocate for the Implementations Team

o Be the primary representative of the Implementations Team within FutureAdvisor, BlackRock, the industry, and to prospective financial institution partners

o Report on Implementations Team projects and progress to senior executives within FutureAdvisor and BlackRock

o Advocate for the Implementations Team’s needs and collaborate with key delivery groups within FutureAdvisor, particularly Product, Engineering, Customer Success/Marketing, Business Development, and Client Operations

o Work with other organizational heads to create processes and roles to support the implementations team

· Drive organizational and process improvements

o Drive standardization efforts for our implementation process to become more predictable, more stable, more efficient, and faster

o Drive efforts to create standard materials for the Implementations Team including Statements of Work, contracts, and presentations

o Maintain and evolve a team structure to best support active implementations, including team members within the Implementations Team, and within other organizations

o Own the implementation methodology for the Implementations Team, pushing team members to use it, and improving and evolving it over time

· Grow the Implementations Team

o Set the goals and objectives for the Implementations Team in alignment with company priorities, and oversee goal-setting and feedback for Implementations Team members

o Be responsible for leveling, roles, and compensation for the Implementations Team

o Create career trajectories for Implementation Directors and Managers, both within the Implementations Team and beyond it

o Coach and grow Directors and Managers on the Implementations Team

o Recruit and interview for new members of the team, both to increase the number of partners we can take on and to backfill for team members that move on

Requirements:

· 10+ years’ experience implementing technology and/or operational projects at external customers

· Experience managing and growing a team of ambitious professionals

· Experience working with Business Development, Product, and Engineering organizations

· Experience in retail wealth management a plus

· Passion for our mission and ability to learn quickly

· Strong track record managing relationships with senior people at outside parties (e.g. clients and partners). Ability to navigate challenging client situations a must

· Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)

· Strategic thinker with ability to delegate the right things

· Ability to dig into the weeds to coach team members

Phil focuses on delivery and execution of FutureAdvisor's software. In addition to management responsibilities, Phil is a core part of the interviewing process, helping raise the bar on hiring.
