Vice President, Supply Chain Planning

FTD Companies is searching for a Vice President -- Supply Chain Planning for its growing group of brands. This role, based in San Diego, CA will report to the EVP of Operations. This role will lead the supply chain planning areas including; demand, supply, capacity, manufacturing and fulfillment/logistics & operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with business leaders to develop and execute S&OP processes and techniques to control costs while optimizing operations and minimizing costs. With a thorough understanding of the KPI's used to measure business performance, the candidate will have high levels of expertise shown with regard to customer experience, service management, operations and logistics/distribution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Alignment of demand and supply -- take a leadership role in defining the models required to appropriately align demand and supply, take an oversight position on demand, supply, inventory and develop and implement the appropriate S&OP cadence
  • Responsible for all aspects of service performance, cost and inventory
  • Capable of engaging with senior level leadership teams
  • Direct the scheduling, management & monitoring of production capacity and master scheduling
  • Inventory Management -- Understand and maintain the minimum necessary inventory and report when required on the status of inventory levels for assigned portfolio against inventory targets
  • Understand, identify and challenge safety stock levels, manufacturing lead-times, etc as part of meeting customer needs
  • Generate and present daily / weekly / monthly reports and metrics as appropriate
  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" within the organization
  • Work on challenging assignments with clearly defined business objectives, solving problems and supporting the needs of our Customers
  • Ensure business objectives involving increase in customer service, decrease in cost, improved inventory turns, and improved customer engagement are targeted and achieved while at the same time delivering on our quality commitments
  • The role will involve a balanced approach between the strategic and tactical elements of our business
  • Development and Implementation of the appropriate cadence processes that enable effective communication across a broad spectrum of stakeholders
  • Investigation and development of appropriate agendas that illicit a clear understanding of the key levers of our supply chain and take a leadership role in developing those levers and systems to enable a scalable and systemic approach to meeting and exceeding customer's needs in a profitable way

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field, MBA is a plus
  • 12 + years supply chain operations and planning experience -- preferred expertise
  • Experience or training in systems supporting materials management, supply chain management, logistics, manufacturing- APICS or other equivalent is preferred
  • Strategic thinker: ability to see the big picture/translate into operational objectives
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Customer focused
  • Works with a sense of urgency and attention to detail at all times
  • Sponsors and implements change
  • Works cooperatively with others to produce innovative solutions
  • Solves problems by gathering data and uses logic to arrive at decisions or solutions that achieve the desired outcome

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed and often tight deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word
