We are seeking an innovative agent of technology: a creative problem solving software engineer comfortable with the needs of evolving technology. This is a highly challenging and an intriguing opportunity for those that thrive in a transformational environment. We will be working to rationalize, standardize and advance our back-office systems--a "new" IT department poised to grow!

  • Participate in the analysis, design, development, implementation and support of FTD's internal software applications.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the team's development process.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned based upon business need.

What we seek:

  • 2+ years of IBM i programming experience (any combination of real world and/or college).
  • Programming knowledge required in the following one of the following areas: RPG3, RPGIV, RPGLE, ILE RPG, RPG Free, or SQLRPGLE, CLP, and CLLE.
  • Knowledge of in these additional areas is a plus: CLP, CLLE, DDS, RLU, SEU, DB2 and SQL.
  • Knowledge of ILE concepts including modules, service programs, and binding directories.
  • DB2 Structured Query Language (SQL) usage including but not limited to: SQL joins (inner and left), selects, inserts, updates and deletes.
  • Experience with embedded SQL in RPGLE programs is a plus.
  • Experience with debugging applications and programs on a IBM i system. In addition, able to analyze and determine program logic flow.

Some of the following knowledge areas are nice to have:

  • Experience dealing with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliant application unit test scripts and performing quality assurance testing.
  • JDE World software and data files.
  • XML and XML Schemas including Web Services.
  • Knowledge or exposure to web based technologies including: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, or other open source tools.
  • Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, RDi, RDp, WDSC or other GUI based source editing software.
  • Exposure to source control tools such as MKS Implementer, Turnover, Arcad, BitBucket, Git, GitHub, Subversion or other source control software used in a development environment.
