Senior Performance Engineer

Overview

Frontline Education is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer. This individual will be responsible for developing the strategy, methods and tools required for testing, measuring and improving the performance, scalability and reliability of our platform.

Responsibilities

Key performance Objectives:

  • Fully understand performance, scalability, and reliability requirements based on interaction with technical and business stakeholders

  • Mature the performance engineering strategy - encompassing process, environments, and tools - aligned with product, architecture, and IT goals

  • Prioritize and champion performance engineering into work streams to support business objectives

  • Establish and Maintain application benchmarks and work with product and technical teams to ensure performance standards are upheld

  • Plan and execute load, volume, stress and reliability tests

  • Evaluate and interpret test results to provides software, hardware, and network related recommendations

  • Assist teams in identifying performance tuning opportunities

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience with performance engineering 
  • Excellent knowledge of performance engineering standards
    • HTTP Protocol, User scenario modeling
    • Performance monitoring and counters 
    • Web Server and application server tuning
  • Experience with scripting or programming background
  • Expert knowledge of performance testing tools and utilities
    • Experience with Blazemeter, Tarus, or coordinating distributed automated test execution 
    • Experience with JMeter or equivalent open source load testing tools
  • Expert knowledge in analysis and bottleneck identification 
  • Experience working with Unix/Linux based systems 
  • Knowledge of Windows server environments and operations 
  • Experience with agile methodologies
