Procurement and Inventory Specialist - FoodKick

Position Summary: Responsibilities include but are not limited to SAP settings maintenance, sourcing and procurement of products across all departments.  Additionally, responsibilities include projects to improve overall business success in relation to complete product procurement, in stocks and inventory management/facility support with respect to product receipt, storage and zoning


Essential Functions:

Replenishment: Includes but is not limited to the following functions:

  • In stocks and DOH review each morning and reaction to (same day internal & vendor orders)
  • Monitor Inventory (delivery and replenishment)
  • Create and modify purchase requisitions, purchase orders and transfer orders across many various vendors and multiple internal systems
  • Communicate directly with vendors through email/phone and develop positive relationships
  • Adjust order volumes based on buy-in opportunities, vendor stock issues, seasonal fluctuations
  • Validate vendor invoices to ensure correct purchasing price (work with accounts payable)
  • Follow up with vendors/FreshDirect on product deliveries, out of stock issues, pricing issues
  • Confirm products are received timely, accurately and meet quality expectations.
  • Assist Operations with point of receiving issues/obstacles
  • Work with operations to optimize process flow (from the point of receiving to shipping) and capacity management of all products
  • Assist operations as needed with goods pickups/returns
  • Weekends required

Inventory / Facility Support:
        * Ad-hoc facility set-up/ re-bins (assign/dedicate locations for given products/product types)

  • Physical/systemic set up and design for product slotting (assigned locations)

SAP: Includes but is not limited to the following functions:

  • Manage SAP Purchasing & MRP
  • Maintain material master settings to meet requirements for successful product procurement
  • Maintain accurate source lists and  vendor info records

Additional Responsibilities / Projects: Includes but is not limited to the following functions/Categories:

  • New Product Development Coordination
    • Assist with the below tasks required to launch a new product including but not limited to:
      • Bin assignments
      • Sourcing information, all vendor information
      • All SKU information (tiers, price, categories, zones, case quantity, etc)
  • Track and communicate promotions from vendors
  • Replenishment/Inbound/Outbound Processes, Inventory Control
  • Work alongside supply chain team, operations analyst / operations, merchandising, demand planning and replenishment teams and assist as needed
  • Optimize and maintain facility in-stock levels. 


Supervision Received: 

  • Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Team leader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.

Supervisory Duties:

  • No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Economics, Operations Research / Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or related
  • One (1) year of experience in an procurement, analytical or similar role
  • Prior work experience in a procurement, operations, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing role
  • Experienced with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • SAP/ERP system experience/knowledge a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to present data/information in a concise, logical and useful manner
  • Able to write for and work with a wide range of audiences, from executives to line workers
  • Proven organizational and time management skills
  • Enjoys operating in a fast-paced, team environment under time constraints
