We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. Your role will be to utilize your strong accounting skills to improve existing and develop new accounting functions and work with the Finance Team on G/L management and the daily operations of the finance function. You are somebody who loves accounting and has strong accounting skills, has a passion for education and technology, and is excited about thriving in a startup environment, which is fast-paced and often involves wearing multiple hats. 


Responsibilities



  • Work directly with the Sr. Accounting Manager on the month-end close

  • Account for all revenue, expenses and capital expenditures on a GAAP and cash basis, which translates to monthly timely financial reporting

  • Management of inventory and associated depreciation on a GAAP and cash basis

  • Lease accounting for multiple campuses and headquarters on a GAAP and cash basis

  • Maintain accounting schedules and month-end reports 

  • Collaborate closely with Bursar and education teams to ensure accurate and robust revenue reconciliation processes across multiple tuition financing products

  • Administrative and operational duties as needed 


Requirements & Skills



  • BS in Accounting 

  • 2+ years of general accounting experience, with Big 4 accounting firm experience and experience working in a high growth environment a preference

  • Professional experience in GAAP, including the ability to move between cash models and accrual models

  • Experience working in Excel
