Instruction and Differentiation Specialist

The Instruction and Differentiation Specialist, under the supervision of the Executive Director of Academics, supports network staff, school administrators, and teachers in implementing data-driven instruction which is differentiated to support all students in meeting high academic standards.
Conducts analytical work on outputs from student information system, student assessments, and other organizational data platforms.
Designs and creates visual and written reports and oral presentations to communicate this analytical work to network and school stakeholders.
Shares analytical reports with network staff, school leaders and teachers with the goal of improving instruction, structures, and systems.
Builds capacities at the schools around the use of academic data, analytical tools, instructional technology, and rigorous analyses to improve instructional planning, monitor student and school progress, and drive student growth and achievement supervised by the executive director of academics.
Supports schools in implementing the child study procedures and other at-risk identification procedures.
Gathers and reviews student data, with school and network based staff, to support identifying students at risk.
Supports schools in identifying materials and programs to support students who are identified as at risk.
Supports schools in identifying and supporting students who are promotion in doubt.
Serves as a full-time and engaged member of staff, supporting Network initiatives as needed, and working with other staff members to ensure fulfillment of the FLACS mission.

Display evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
Prior satisfactory teaching experience within grades K-8 required
New York State Certification in a relevant area is preferred
Experience analyzing data to improve instruction required
Basic proficiency of data applications and warehouses required (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets)
