Data Analyst

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the executive director of academics, the data analyst is responsible for the analysis and reporting of student and academic data. The data analyst works closely with school leaders, teachers, other instructional staff and network staff, particularly the Data Systems Managers.

Key Responsibilities:
Conducts analytical work on outputs from student information system, student assessments, teacher evaluations, data warehouse, and other organizational data platforms.
Designs and creates visual and written reports and oral presentations to communicate this analytical work to various stakeholders.
Shares analytical reports with network staff, school leaders and teachers with the goal of improving instruction, structures, and systems.
Assists in internal reporting between the schools and the network and with the schools and external funders.
Builds capacities at the schools around the use of academic data, analytical tools, instructional technology, and rigorous analyses to improve instructional planning, monitor student and school progress, and drive student growth and achievement supervised by the executive director of academics.
Assists in the completion and submission of mandated reporting to NYS Education Department, SUNY, and The Board of Trustees.
Serves as a full-time and engaged member of staff, supporting Network operations and assessment administration as needed, and working with other staff members to ensure fulfillment of the FLACS mission.

Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a teacher and/or prior experience with data management.
Experience with MS Excel or other database systems is preferred.
Clearance for fingerprint and criminal background check.
