Fivestars seeks a Group Product Marketing Manager / Director of Product Marketing, who is passionate about small businesses and local communities and will help synthesize customer needs, predict how the local business market will evolve, develop differentiated product positioning and pricing that works in the field and online, translate positioning into effective sales and web assets, launch new products and features to businesses and consumers to maximize adoption, and lead and inspire a small team.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the voice of the customer for the company and for our product and engineering teams and regularly synthesize and communicate the needs of our target customers and how they are using our products  
  • Anticipate how our core markets will grow and change over the next few years and how competitors will position themselves, and articulate how our company and products can differentiate itself
  • Translate our product and features into positioning and pricing that resonates with our customers and meets our economic objectives
  • Work with our sales enablement team to train reps on how to sell and position our products
  • Coordinate the development of marketing assets like case studies, product sheets, web pages, and demos for our sales and ops teams that will accelerate sales velocity and reduce churn
  • Launch new products and features into the market and work closely with engineering, product, sales, ops, and our growth marketing team
  • Monitor and drive adoption and usage of our products and features amongst our merchants and users and manage internal communication of launches
  • Promote Fivestars with press and anticipate how our company and product stories intersect with the stories being told by the press to maximize earned media
  • Inspire, grow and develop a small team of product marketers

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree with strong academic background or equivalent experience
  • 6 to 12 years of experience with track record of growing scope and influence
  • 4+ years of experience doing product marketing at a fast-growing tech company
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong copywriter with excellent attention to detail
  • Results-focused with a passion for exceeding measurable targets for revenue or adoption
  • Ability to develop multi-channel marketing campaigns including copy and assets
  • Background with small business customers preferred
