About the Position
Armed with our industry-changing Public Affairs Issues Management & Monitoring platform, our Business Development team identifies and helps potential customers transform their Public Affairs work through the power of our technology and content. FiscalNote Europe is actively looking to bring onboard a EU FiscalNote Sales Director for our Fiscalnote Product in Europe. This role is an outstanding opportunity to become FiscalNote’s key engine of market expansion and revenue growth in the European Market. The role requires someone who will be focused on our customers’ long term goals by understanding their needs in the EU Public Affairs space. They will become true strategic partners through deep empathy in order to develop our economic relationship with new customers. This key individual will be able to understand the real pain points and customer needs in relation to best-in-class public affairs in the EU and from there to guide conversations about how organizations can truly integrate and accelerate public affairs work with technology to better deliver their organizations strategy. This position requires a bias for action, a thirst for knowledge, and a true public-affairs and technology mindset – all with a view to driving outstanding sales results.

The Business Development Team at FiscalNote is the key touchpoint for our client-focused, and client first, approach. Your keen understanding of the sales cycle provides the tactical insight necessary to identify ideal methods of penetrating accounts ripe for a sale. You also know how Brussels works so you know where to look for business. You understand the maze of EU Institutions and Decision-Making so you can relate to our clients. Finally, you also intuitively know that time and deep relationship building are some of the most effective tools in developing key accounts for the long term. Your resiliency and competitive nature are core to your successful track record, but your intellectual curiosity drives perpetual personal growth.
What to Expect:
- Strategically build, manage, and close deals in sales pipeline
- Be responsible for closing a quota of new business
- Strategically plan for account penetration
- Actively and regularly attend industry events
- Lead demos and pitches to executives
- Perform both cold and warm outreach to potential clients
- Helping to create thought leadership and sales enablement
- Thinking about the short-mid-long terms sales pipeline to ensure constant delivery
What Sets You Apart:
- 6+ years of B2B software or information services sales
- Consultative approach to solutions selling
- Successfully sold software into blue chip companies
- Carried and hit annual quota of €1m< (consistent top 20% performer)
- Closed complex sales cycles in competitive markets
- Experience pairing professional services with software
- Experience using Salesforce (preferred)
- Fluent in English and also one other key EU language (French and/or German)
- Knowledge and experience in/of EU Affairs
- Legally eligible to work in Belgium (required)
