Senior Risk Officer I - Vendor & Third Party Risk

Position Description:
The Senior Risk Officer is part of the Risk Monitoring and Reporting team within the Enterprise and Operational Risk Management Department . The position is responsible for analyzing risks across risk disciplines within Enterprise Risk Management and assisting senior management in managing those risks. This position is responsible for the governance and administration of the vendor and third party risk management function, including the design and implementation of risk assessments, ongoing oversight, risk monitoring and risk reporting. Employs in-depth knowledge as a generalist or specialist of enterprise risk management techniques, practices and procedures, various banking regulatory requirements and processes. Excellent management and project management skills. Works with various regulators for continuous monitoring and exam management, business unit/corporate and enterprise-wide business support groups to manage with cross-functional level issues associated with risk. This role is responsible for maintaining influential relationships with Senior Management across the Three Lines of Defense and providing support for Management and Board Committees (e.g., Operational Risk Committee, Board Risk Committee, etc.) as directed. Maintains effective and productive external relationships.

Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree, with a minimum of 6 years financial services experience in enterprise risk management, vendor/third party risk management, compliance, audit, finance or accounting.
-OR-
Master degree with a minimum of 4 years financial services experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, audit, finance or accounting.

Additional Requirements:

Expert knowledge of risk techniques and practices.
Advanced knowledge of various bank/government regulatory requirements and processes.
Ability to work with associates, senior management and various management and board risk committees.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Exceptional organization, analysis, decision making and problem resolution skills.
Must be able to meet deadlines.
Ability to supervise, lead and train other risk officers.
Uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
Working knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise risk and operational risk (e.g. FDIC, OCC, FRB, CFPB, etc.).
Ability to identify and develop solutions for new/updated regulatory guidance.
Working knowledge of Risk Control Frameworks (COSO, Basel etc.).
Ability to leverage relationship management capabilities and demonstrate solid problem solving skills.
Ability to impact and influence stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to effectively manage, motivate and lead assigned personnel to willingly achieve desired results.
Advanced PC Skills including Microsoft Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (e.g. MBA)
Enterprise and/or operational risk experience
Project management or consulting (internal/external) experience
Excellent conflict management/negotiating skills
