Private Banker

Position Description:
Private Bankers support the Wealth Management division's growth and profitability goals through new business development and client retention activities. Develop relationships with High Net Worth (HNW) individuals to provide credit, depository, and wealth management solutions. Work extensively with Client Advisors, Private Mortgage Bankers, and other wealth partners to provide HNW clients with a superior client experience.

Principal Accountabilities:
Client Acquisition: Develop and implement a client acquisition plan to achieve sales and profitability objectives as defined by Wealth Management. Utilize a consultative sales approach to identify needs and deliver appropriate solutions across all banking lines to broaden and deepen relationships with HNW clients and prospects. Develop and utilize centers of influence to help generate referrals.
Client Administration and Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of HNW credit and deposit products services that meet the unique needs of HNW clients. Maintain a high level of product knowledge and full understanding of products and services available across all wealth channels. Prepare credit packages for review and approval by credit partners. Interview loan applicants and originate loans for centralized approval. Review declined loans and request exception approvals where appropriate. Assist in collection of loan delinquencies in a timely manner according to current FCB policy.
Risk Mitigation/Compliance: Monitor portfolio performance; take action necessary to ensure compliance with goals/standards for watch list credits, charge offs, loan documentation exceptions, loan servicing expectations, and CRA activity. Escalate problem loans as needed. Complete all required compliance and credit training and adhere to all compliance policies.
Partnerships: Maintain a professional and productive working relationship with all Wealth partners, Business & Commercial Bankers, and other corporate divisions, bringing sales partners into client relationships as needed to manage all aspects of the financial services relationship for our clients and prospects.
Community: Represent the Bank in various civic and community functions to further enhance the Bank's image and leverage that visibility for development of additional business opportunities for First Citizens.

Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in financial services relationship management (business/commercial banking, private banking, or wealth management).
-Or-
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years experience in financial services relationship management (business/commercial banking, private banking, or wealth management).

Additional Requirements:
Must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided.
Possess valid Series 7, 63, 65/66, and State specific Life and Health Insurance licenses.
Must complete federal registration and annual renewal as required by the SAFE Act.
Personal financial analysis and credit underwriting skills.

Other Preferred Qualifications:
Business Administration, Finance, or Economics degree.
