Employee Benefits Consultant

Position Description:
The candidate will generate new business by designing an Employee Benefits programs for prospects and FCB clients. These new client relationships will be developed through self-sourced (prospecting) activities and referred FCB client opportunities. Responsibilities include: Developing a pipeline of self-sourced prospects and the ability to integrate/partner with FCB business and commercial banking teams to help initiate referrals. Through a consultative approach the candidate will assess/analyze potential business and commercial prospect/client employee benefit needs and will propose and recommend placement of First Citizens Insurance Solutions(along with One Digital platform) to meet the client's needs. Accountability for ensuring adherence to regulatory and corporate guidelines. This candidate will also be accountable for reviewing and ensuring timely collection of clients' accounts receivable balances as well as sales forecasting, tracking and reporting.

Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree with a minimum of 6 years direct insurance sales experience.
-Or-
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years direct insurance sales experience.

Additional Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided. (Mileage or rental car expense provided by agency)
Ability to hold a Life and Health insurance license either at time of or within 60 days of hire date.
Carrier appointment is required for all associates in positions for marketing, production and service of group Life/Health customers.
Job appropriate licensing.
Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals and follow sales management discipline including sales forecasting, pipeline management and reporting.
Strong relationship building skills to include: external COI development, networking capabilities
Excellent presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to partner both internally and externally within an organization to develop referrals.
Proven negotiation skills.
Extensive insurance regulatory compliance knowledge.
Possess strong personal computer skills including experience in Microsoft Windows Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work well with others to complete goals and initiatives.
Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Possess strong problem solving/analytical skills and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Solicit new business prospects to maximize revenue generation opportunities and surpass agency revenue goals/targets.
Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of industry issues (customer, regulatory, employee, etc.) and capabilities available through our carriers, third parties (e.g. One Digital Insurance) and other key partners.
Provide access to and direction regarding high levels of service as provided personally or through third parties. This includes new and existing relationships, periodic reviews and marketing of coverage.
Provide management, support staff and partners with properly completed applications, supporting documentation and other requests for critical information.
Review and ensure timely collection of clients' accounts receivable balances.
