Critical Facilities Technician

Critical Facilities Technicians are responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within their assigned data center is operating per the requirements of the Manager of Critical Facilities at the direction of the Senior Critical Facilities Technicians. This involves physically performing preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and immediate response to emergency issues. This role serves as day to day on site physical support following the leadership of the Senior Critical Facility Technician while monitoring onsite third party vendors. They are expected to be a daily asset for all facility operations within their assigned data center to support FCB within its owned and internally operated facilities. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% UPTIME.
High school diploma or equivalent required with a minimum 5 years facilities technician experience or 3 years of critical facilities technician experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license. Position requires frequent driving to other offices, bank customers, etc. Bank car not provided.
Must have a solid technical background with a focus on HVAC systems, uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Unit (PDU), transformers and generators
Understanding of electrical and mechanical calculations required to maintain a data center environment.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Technical Procedures, Blue Prints/Diagrams, Building Codes, and OSHA Codes
Solid understanding of NEC Code, and data processing environments
Must be comfortable working in an environment that contains exposure to noise, fumes, cold, and heat
Will also work outdoors in variable weather conditions, and will be required to wear safety equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, protective gloves, and other PPE.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to climb, and do work off a ladder.
Must be able to be on call 24x7 to respond to facility emergency situations.
Performs the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned data centers. Operate daily with communication from and to management.
Documents and relays all facilities-related issues within the data centers, escalating to the Senior Technician and or Supervisor of Critical Facilities as needed
Assist with the data collection on all root cause analysis of equipment failures
Assists with the troubleshooting and reporting of facility and data sever power/cooling level events
Follows new standard practices per the Chief Engineer and Lead Technician and ensures vendor support teams follow the same standards
Conducts training for personal growth and gives guidance to vendor support teams to ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendors and other internal FCB staff
Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows
Communicates technical information to a non-technical audience
Residence within 30 minutes of the assigned property preferred
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to assist Base Building Technicians during Emergency/Life Safety situations - and perform basic Preventative Maintenance on Admin Facility Equipment
